Chauffeured Vehicle Market in State of Flux – As Town Car Era Ends, Lincoln Tries to Hang On to Market Share

There’s an air of uncertainty in the chauffeured transportation industry as the Lincoln Town Car ends production this year. Lincoln is preparing its MKT Town Car in an attempt to continue segment domination, but it might not be easy to convince livery companies to adopt a front- and all-wheel-drive V-6, unibody crossover wagon to replace the body-on-frame, rear-wheel-drive, four-door sedan that has served as an industry mainstay for so long.

“The industry is in a state of flux,” says Martin Romjue, editor at Limousine, Charter & Tour magazine.
