Where’s the Traffic?
February 19, 2009That’s what I was thinking as I filmed B-roll for an upcoming two-minute broadcast journalism piece on Metro’s proposed dedicated bus lanes on Wilshire Boulevard. Those lanes would be active from 7-9 a.m. and from 4-7 p.m. At the top of a nearly 30-story building near L.A.’s Miracle Mile (see the photo below), I was hoping to capture scenes of intense traffic. As you can probably see, Wilshire was doing just fine while I was up there around 4:45 and 5:15 p.m. on a Wednesday.
Sure the 360-degree views were fantastic, but my experience driving Wilshire was in sharp contrast to the lack of traffic I found and filmed yesterday. Oh well. Enjoy the photos!
Below, that’s no swimming pool, by the way. Actually, that’s the La Brea tar pits, where a bunch of Ice Age fossils were recently found underneath a former May Co. parking lot.
