OJ Update: New Tropicana News Plus Infographic

March 23, 2010

Near the end of 2009, PepsiCo (owner of Tropicana) lost the title of most popular seller of orange juice to Coca-Cola. Surprisingly, declining Tropicana sales were simply the result of a botched bottle facelift — not a change in the way the juice was made.

What we’ve got for you today is a useful infographic that clearly shows the ways Tropicana redesigned its orange juice cartons early last year. Check it out at the link below the jump… Read the rest of this entry ?

Is Apple’s iPad Worth a Test Drive?

January 29, 2010

iPad

After listening to a video of David Lazarus from the Los Angeles Times talk about the Apple iPad, the anticipation and buzz surrounding the machine reminds me of the recent debut of the Honda CR-Z. The CR-Z is intended to be a sporty and inexpensive hybrid and, despite the fact that no journalists have had the chance to drive the vehicle, that hasn’t stopped everyone from condemning or praising the soon-to-arrive Honda. People writing for blogs can offer as much insight as they want, but without actually spending time with the iPad, the opinions shouldn’t be considered too significant.

The recent and incredible failure of Tropicana to redesign its orange juice cartons is not, as the New York Times called it, PepsiCo’s version of a New Coke-like debacle. Highlights from the Soundtrack to my Life

February 26, 2009

What would the final scene of West Side Story be without the music? Without the music complementing Maria’s anger and sadness, the scene wouldn’t be nearly as compelling. Maybe it’s the same for you — it certainly rings true for me. Maybe because of all the years I’ve been singing, music is an integral part of my life, pumping me up when necessary and soothing me when I need to relax.

When asked to write a blog about the “Soundtrack to my Life” as part of an online journalism class at USC, I immediately thought about songs that, when played, instantly remind me of a certain point in my past.

Let’s start with Wang Chung.
